You Are In All Things | John Philip Newell | Prayer

e_CES3228

You are above us, O God,
you are within.
You are in all things
yet contained by no thing.
Teach us to seek you in all that has life
that we may see you as the Light of life.
Teach us to search for you in our own depths that we may find you in every living soul.

_CES0292

Glory be to you

Great Creating Spirit

who shines in distant stars beyond numbering.

And on earth peace.

Glory be to you

Great Creating Spirit

who sings and wings in birds on high.

And on earth peace.

Glory be to you

Great Creating Spirit

whose thunder shakes the shining firmament.

And on earth peace.

Glory glory glory

and on earth peace.

Let Our Soul Breathe Hope | John Philip Newell | Celtic Spirituality | Prayer

Single Caribou DNP cr

For the freshness of this new day

thanks be to you, O God.

For morning’s gift of clarity

its light like the first day’s dawn

thanks be to you.

In this newborn light

let us see afresh.

In this gateway onto what has never been before

let our soul breathe hope

for the earth

for the creatures

for the human family.

Let our soul breathe hope.

Blessings On This Day | John Philip Newell | Prayer | Celtic Spirituality

IMG_3398

On this day

the blessings of heaven.

On this day

the blessings of earth.

On this day

the blessings of sea and of sky.

To open us to life

to ground us in life

to fill us with life

and with wonder.

On those we love this day

and on every human family

the blessings of heaven

the blessings of earth

the blessings of sea and of sky.

May the Angels of Light | John Philip Newell | Prayer | Celtic Spirituality

Blue Mountain sunrise (h)May the angels of light

glisten for us this day.

May the sparks of God’s beauty

dance in the eyes of those we love.

May the universe

be on fire with Presence for us this day.

May the new sun’s rising

grace us with gratitude.

Let earth’s greenness shine

and its waters breathe with Spirit.

Let heaven’s winds stir the soil of our soul

and fresh awakenings rise within us.

May the mighty angels of light

glisten in all things this day.

May they summon us to reverence,

may they call us to life.

Prayer for Light | Prayer | John Philip Newell

Light within all light
Soul behind all souls
at the breaking of dawn
at the coming of day
we wait and watch.
Your Light within the morning light
Your Soul within the human soul
Your Presence beckoning to us from the heart of life.
In the dawning of this day
let us know fresh shinings in our soul.
In the growing colours of new beginning all around us
let us know the first lights of our heart.
Great Star of the morning
Inner Flame of the universe
let us be a colour in this new dawning.

To Give Ourselves in Love

You have shown us love, O Christ.

You have shown us God.

Show us also our true face

and the true face of every human being.

Show us the desire for love and the strength to give ourselves in love

that are woven into the fabric of our being.

For we are made in the image of love, O Christ.

We are made in the image of God.

O Christ Who Died Yet Lives

O Christ who died yet lives

and who is among us as one who has returned to God,

your words speak to us from the centre of our souls.

Call us by name that we may recognize you within us and among us.

Show us your wounds that in the brokenness of life

we may glimpse your resurrection presence.

Show Us the Way of Love | John Philip Newell | Prayer

At the very last, O Christ,

you remembered your mother and the disciple you loved.

Show us the way of love.

Teach us to remember one another.

And reassure us that it is when we give ourselves away in love

that we truly find ourselves.

Show us the way of love, O Christ.
